KEEPING IT DEADLY
Get out, Get Deadly, Stay Deadly, On the Road

K.I.D
Sydney Region Aboriginal Corporation has identified the need for healing and greater Indigenous community control over child safety issues. Our organisation is invested in delivering programs that empower our Mob and heal our people.
Our Keeping it Deadly program© targets Indigenous at-risk youth (12-24) who experience socio-economic disadvantage, disengagement from education and employment, are at risk of offending or are transitioning out of detention.

The Keeping it Deadly program© is designed to address the over representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in detention, build on their strengths and proactively work to reduce recidivism.
The program is run in three distinct components

GET OUT, GET DEADLY
STAY DEADLY
ON THE ROAD
Get Out Get Deadly is a capacity-building early intervention program for at-risk youth. Through a series of culturally safe workshops, young people build critical life skills, strengthen connections to culture, and explore pathways to education, employment, and healthy relationships. Graduates of the program are empowered to step into leadership roles as peer mentors, supporting the next generation of participants.
Stay Deadly is the follow-on program for graduates of Get Out Get Deadly. It focuses on leadership development, cultural connection, and ongoing engagement through camps, workshops, and holiday programs. Participants continue building confidence, skills, and community while stepping into active mentoring and leadership roles.
On the Road is an outreach stream of Stay Deadly. Each semester, four Stay Deadly participants are selected as peer mentors to deliver workshops in rural communities. In partnership with local community organisations, they lead sporting clinics and cultural activities, showcasing leadership, sharing lived experience, and building connections with young people in regional areas.
